The history of The Beatles dates back to the 1950s, when John Lennon and Paul McCartney first met at the Quarry Bank High School Festival in Liverpool in July 1957. Fascinated by rock and roll music, they decided to form a band. They were joined by George Harrison and Ringo Starr, respectively, creating one of the most important musical groups in history. The beginnings of his career were difficult. The Beatles performed in local clubs, gaining experience and fans. However, the real breakthrough came when the band signed a contract with EMI in 1962.
