George joins the band, Mimi dies, etc...

 

February 6, 1958 - another important date for the band, George Harrison, Paul's friend with his own - quite good guitar - watches The Quarry Men's concert at Wilson Hall. Paul convinces John to take in a talented youngster because of his guitar playing. George impresses John with his version of "Raunchy", but joins the band a little later, often replacing the late Griffiths at concerts. July 15 - John's mother, Julia, dies in a car accident. The first one is sung by John, in the second solo parts are performed by Paul. During this time, John and Paul wrote their own songs, such as the soon-to-be-famous "Love Me Do". Apparently Paul's first composition was "I Lost My Little Girl", "Kepp Looks That Way", Too Bad About Sorrows" and others. Unfortunately, Paul and George's composition was only an episode.
