The Story of The Beatles Part 2: George Harrison Joins the Band

 The guys played and played after festivals, weddings, etc. until 1958 approached. John and Paul decided to look for a new guitarist. Paul wasn't comfortable playing lead guitar. But he knew one guy who played the guitar quite well and his name was George Harrison. Paul arranges a meeting with George. , because of his guitar playing. George impresses John with his version of "Raunchy", but joins the band a little later, often replacing the late Griffiths at concerts. Paul convinces John to take in a talented youngster because of his guitar playing.


GEORGE: Paul and I rode the same bus from Liverpool Institute wearing the same black uniforms. We got along because I discovered that he had a trumpet and he discovered that I had a guitar. I was 13 and I think he was turning 13 or starting 14. He was always 9 months older, even now after all these years he's still 9 months older."
